Southwest Choir performs on Dec. 6th, 2022

Southwest High School Choirs performed in the Southwest auditorium on December 6, 2022. Bryan Fisher, the choir teacher, directed them. With performances from Coro Voce, Cantar, SHoCk, Chamber Singers, Southwest Singers, and a performance by all the choirs together. 

The setlist included:

  • We Shall Not Give Up The Fight (A song of protest from South Africa). Ed. By Anders Byberg. Performed by All Choirs.
  • Liza (Water Come a Me Eye). Arr. Burnett. Performed by Coro Voce.

  • Cedar Swamp (Appalachian Folk Song). Arr. Broeker. Performed by Cantar & Coro Voce.
  • A Song to You I Sing. By: Jacques Arcadelt (1514-1562). Performed by SHoCk.
  • Send Down the Rain. By: Joyce Eilers. Performed by SHoCk.
  • Exhilaration is the Breeze. By: Emily Dickenson/Neil Ginsberg. Performed by SHoCk.
  • Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas. By: Martin/Blane, Arr. Schmutte. Performed by Chamber Singers.
  • I wish. By: Wonder, Arr. Emerson. Performed by Chamber Singers.

  • 5/18 to 5/20 Southwest Choir presents ReVue, a new variety show coming to Southwest performed by Southwest Choir Students. 
  • 5/23 Lake Harriet Bandshell Concert at 7:00 pm 

Two excellent opportunities to support the arts are coming up! The Winter Band, Orchestra, and Jazz Concert is on December 8 at 7:00 pm at Southwest High School, and the Southwest Art Show is on December 8 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Jones coffee on 2818 w 43rd St Mpls. You will listen to some stunning performances and see extraordinary art pieces made by Southwest Students. Stay current on various performances and showcases by looking at the Southwest calendar!
