With the basketball season right around the corner, The Navigator spoke with three different students at Southwest high school and asked them questions about what they think about the basketball season that is just around the corner. Last year, the men’s basketball team went 19-8 and had a heartbreaking loss in sections to Armstrong. Thomas Bryden (‘25), spoke about his hopes for the upcoming basketball season. “I feel pretty excited and confident about the new season around the corner with lots of opportunities,” Bryden hopes to play at the shooting guard position and is ready to ball out. Abdirahman (‘26) was also asked about his hopes for the basketball season. “I’ve been putting in crazy work man. I’m ready for this season” Abdirahman Abdi hopes to play the point guard position during the season. Zuhaib Warsame (‘27) said “I’m ready to dominate my freshman season by averaging 25 points per game and 10 blocks.”
