Last week, Southwest high school celebrated Homecoming. In honor of the game and dance, students dressed up for a week of themed outfits. Monday was pajama day, Tuesday was dress-alike day, Wednesday was jersey day, Thursday was dress like a tourist day, and Friday was Laker out. Friday was full of excitement, as it featured a parade, pep fest, and the big game. Various clubs and sports teams drove around the neighborhood and passed out candy. After a riveting parade came an excellent pep fest. Each grade elected two students to homecoming court. Excitement broke out when supporting each other in various games and activities such as a pie eating contest. Laker spirit was at an all time high! Later in the evening the highly anticipated football game began. Southwest did not win, but attitudes were kept positive regardless. The next day, students arrived at Southwest in full glamour. For the seniors, that meant dressing like old Hollywood. The dance was a lovely evening of snacks, photos, and moshing. Homecoming 2024 is definitely one for the books.
