Inception follows Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio), a thief with the ability to enter people’s dreams and extract information from their subconscious. This rare skill makes him highly desired among companies needing confidential information. Unfortunately, this ability leads him to lose the things he loves most, and Dom must perform a dangerous mission in order to return home.
At the beginning, I found myself a bit confused as to what was going on. However, as the movie progressed, everything began to come together in a very satisfying way. The concept of Inception in itself is very unique, and the way time and reality affect dreams within it is incredibly interesting. Leonardo DiCaprio and Cillian Murphy had great acting and Tom Hardy’s character, Eames, quickly became one of my favorite characters. The action scenes are very well acted as well as directed, and the special effects are incredible. The soundtrack was excellent at creating suspense, and the incorporation of clock ticking and gunshots added an extra layer to the music. There are only a few minor criticisms, two being the slight under explanation of a few concepts and dialogue that was a little redundant in certain scenes. Overall, I really enjoyed Inception and I would recommend adding it to your watchlist if you haven’t already.
